Lemmy is a beautiful Lurcher boy who has come to us via the stray kennels 😞 another sighthound cruelty abandoned

Lemmy is an affectionate boy who loves curling up for a cuddle, playing and running with dog friends, and his food! He’s typical of his breed, short bursts of energy followed by long naps!

This is what Lemmys lovely foster has to say about him:

Meet Lemmy, our lovable Lurcher!

Lemmy arrived in our care as a stray, so we don’t know much about his past, but we do know he adapts quickly to new environments, the house, busy roads, the beach, and even woodlands. Another great thing about him is that he walks beautifully on lead and loves a long walk.

Whilst in our care, we’ve noticed Lemmy thrives on physical attention, loving having a good cuddle on the sofa. He also does settle well when he has people around him and warms up quickly when guests are in the home.

He can sometimes be a bit worried when left alone, so potential families would need to gradually build up the period of time he is left for. Lemmy would also benefit in a routine with his house training. However, whilst in his foster home, he has been very clean, with little to no accidents overnight.

Being a lurcher, he would unfortunately not be allowed to be let off lead due to a prey drive within the breed. However, he has proven to enjoy stretching his legs in an enclosed field.

Lemmy can be a bit nervous around older individuals, particularly those with sticks, and can be a bit unsure with sudden movements, so it would be better suited to an adult only home with no children.

Lemmy would ideally suit a home with another dog, preferably someone with hound experience, and possibly another hound so he can play roughly with them and have someone to chase in the fields, however he has proven to adapt to different breeds and has been living with a Staffordshire Bull Terrier as well. He’s a bit unsure with smaller dogs but loves a good play. He gains his confidence from being around other dogs and learning their social cues.

Lemmy learns quick, in his home, he has learnt “sit” but can also easily learn some other basic commands if given the chance.

He’s an incredibly special boy who, when in the right home, will become the most wonderful companion💕

Could you be the proud new parents of Lemmy?
